Training Data

Training data is how you teach Adam which questions belong together and how to answer them.
Each item is a topic: a short name, several ways a visitor might ask about it, and the reply steps Adam should follow.

Open the trainer first — see Bot Trainer if you need the steps.

Create a new topic
  1. In the Bot Trainer, click Add Data.
  2. The trainer editor opens. Start by selecting the first card on the left (the starting point of the flow).
  3. Enter an Intent — a short topic name you will recognize later (for example faq.refund or hours).
  4. Add Utterances — sample questions or phrases visitors might type (for example “Do you offer refunds?” and “How do I get my money back?”).
  5. Press Enter or click the add button after each sample question.
Intent and sample questions
Tip:  Add several sample questions for the same topic. The more natural ways people ask, the better Adam can match the right reply.
Note
You need at least one sample question before you can save a topic.
Keep the topic name clear — it appears in your Training Data list.

Review training suggestions

If Automatic Training is enabled for your entity, Atchr can prepare draft topics from your website content. These appear under Training Suggestions.

Training Suggestions

For each suggestion you can:

  • Open it, edit the topic name, sample questions, and reply steps, then choose Save and Accept to move it into your Training Data.
  • Accept it from the list when you are happy with the draft as-is.
  • Delete it if it is not useful.
Note
Suggestions are drafts. Adam does not use them until you accept (or save and accept) them into Training Data and then click Update Adam.

Edit or remove a topic

Click a topic in Training Data to open it in the trainer editor.
Change the topic name, sample questions, or reply steps, then save.
You can also download a topic as an .atchr file, or delete it if it is no longer needed.

Upload training files

Click Upload in the Bot Trainer toolbar and choose an .atchr file. This is useful when you previously exported a topic or received a shared training file.

Tip:  Community training packs may also be available from Atchr Resources when that library is enabled for your account.

Publish changes to Adam

Saving a topic stores it in your Training Data. To make Adam use those answers on your live widget, click Update Adam in the Bot Trainer toolbar and wait for the sync to finish.

Build the reply

Sample questions tell Adam when to answer. Reply steps tell Adam what to say and do next. Learn how to add messages, buttons, forms, and other steps in Bot Processes.
